Católica in Porto Hosts Sustainable Welcome Event for International Mobility Students

In a bid to promote sustainability and foster a warm reception for international mobility students, Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto (UCP -Porto) organized a unique welcome event that combined eco-conscious initiatives with cultural immersion experiences.

The event, held at UCP's campus in Porto, welcomed international students embarking on their academic journey at the esteemed institution. What set this welcome event apart was its focus on sustainability, reflecting UCP's commitment to environmental stewardship and global citizenship.

In line with the university's dedication to cultural exchange, international students were given the opportunity to taste Portuguese delicacies during the welcome cocktail. Additionally, students can know a bit more on the city, by cruising in the Douro River and visiting the Port wine cellars.

Magda Ferro, head of the International Office at UCP in Porto, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "We are delighted to welcome our international mobility students to UCP and to Porto in a manner that aligns with our values of sustainability and inclusivity. By fostering a sense of environmental responsibility and cultural appreciation, we hope to empower our students to become global citizens who contribute positively to society."

This semester, Católica in Porto welcomes more than one hundred exchange students from around 30 nationalities from Europe, Asia and North and South America.
