During the 8^th, 9^th and 10th of February, it took place virtually the Student Reception Week for International students at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto.

For its first time the event was held exclusively online and it included meetings between foreign and national students or the “joint” cooking and tasting of traditional Portuguese dishes such as Francesinha or Bacalhau à Brás (a codfish recipe). These events aided international students to gain knowledge in several specific aspects of the city of Porto, its culture, as well as the University itself.

The Reception Week marks the beginning of the experience of international students at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto. In the current context, it takes on greater importance as pandemic contention rules limits social life and hinders the experience of integration.

The “2nd Home” Association, organized and animated all social activities such as the cooking workshop, Portuguese karaoke, quizzes, cultural games, or coffee with your buddy (a time for online interactive talk between Portuguese and international students). Their support was critical for the success of this event.

This semester the Catholic in Porto welcomes more than a hundred students of 17 different nationalities.
