PORTO REGIONAL CENTRE

• Consortium Erasmus - Erasmus Scholarships Program for International Internships. The consortium main objective is to provide Catholic University of Portugal - Porto students, an opportunity for Erasmus funded international internships. The consortium comprises 33 national Institutions from diverse sectors (Environment, Education, Health, Culture, Arts, Regional Development, etc.) and nature (Companies, Local Authorities, Foundations, Schools, Associations).

• Erasmus Mundus SUD EU - The Erasmus Mundus SUD-UE programme (EMA2-STRAND 1, LOT 14) is a Partnership between 20 Universities from South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela) and from Europe (France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain). The consortium has the support of associated institutions mainly in South America such as other universities. This programme is funded by the European Commission and aims:
 •to promote European higher education,
 •to improve and enhance the career prospects of students,
 •to promote intercultural understanding through cooperation with South American countries, in accordance with EU external policy objectives in order to contribute to the sustainable development of South America in the field of higher education. (http://www.sudue.eu/)

• Social services, welfare state and places – This project aims to study social services, welfare state and places. Reestrucutring of social services in Europe ans its impacto on social and territorial cohesion and governance.

Erasmus Intensive Programme on “Lining techniques“ in partnership with Université de Liége (Belgium) and Universitá di Urbino (Itály).

LAW SCHOOL

EU Competition Law Enforcement by National Judges - This project aims to promote the course 'Application of competition law EU law by national courts' and thus raise awareness on the regime of antitrust law (Articles 101 and 102 EUFC), public aid, and also reflect on the question of 'private' application of competition law. The course aims to provide national courts, with intensive and thorough training of competition issues through seminars, workshops and conferences, focusing in particularly relevant cases in this area in order to prepare participants for the application of such knowledge in future cases. The project is intended to broaden the participants’ horizons in this field and to contribute to the development of their professional skills, through the sharing of knowledge and research in the area. This will be the object of presentation, discussion and possible publication.

FACULTY OF BIOTECHNOLOGY

AFTER - This project aims to improve traditional African products and associated know-how by sharing European and African knowledge and art for the benefit of consumers and producers in Africa and Europe. (http://www.after-fp7.eu/en/)

QUAFETY - Comprehensive Approach to Enhance Quality and Safety of Ready to Eat Fresh Products – The goal of the project is to improve safety and sensory quality of fresh fruits ready-to-eat and vegetables throughout the supply chain, from the farm to the market and develop rapid nondestructive methods and quality (all attributes) for evaluation and prediction. • The application of innovative fundamental food-structure-property relationships to the design of foods for health, wellness and pleasure - This project involves the application of fundamental and innovative relations of the food structure to the design of food properties for health, wellness and pleasure. GRATITUDE- Gains from Losses of Root and Tuber - he project has the following general objectives (1) To reduce physical post-harvest losses of fresh produce (focusing mainly on yams). (2) To reduce economic losses through value added processing (focusing on both cassava and yams). (3) To valorize wastes from the value chain (focusing mainly on cassava). DEFRUS - Development of Qualification Framework for Food Science Studies at Russian Universities - The project DEFRUS aims to prepare jointly Structural Measures type of Tempus designed to support the structural reform of higher education system and strategic framework development at national level in Russian Federation.
The main objective of the project will be development of qualification framework for Food Science studies in Russia. Using project partners expertise and experience from former projects we would like to discuss and to define learning outcomes with main reference level descriptors: skills, competences and knowledge. We also plan to consider methods for assessment and certification, mechanism of qualification accumulation and recognition and quality assurance system. Resulted conclusions and recommendations will allow for producing training manuals and for organization of trainings for Russian partners.

GILearn - Consumer learning to enhance the knowledge of products with geographical indications. This project includes the following actions: (1) Training Needs Analysis in Traditional Products through Qualitative Techniques (Focus Group) and Quantitative (questionnaire), (2) Education of traditional products Consumers: domestic consumers, tourists and export. (3) Training Test Pilot Consumers Traditional Products: Cheese, (4) Seminar and Tasting Sessions articulated with the National Dairy Partners.

INTEGRAL - Future-oriented integrated management of European forest landscapes This research project is intended to develop participatory planning methodologies that contribute to improving the field implementation of policies to promote multifunctionality of forest areas. • The theoretical, empirical and policy foundations for building social innovation in Europe - Projecto destinado a construir um quadro de análise teórico, um estudo comparativo de boas práticas e instrumentos de medida e avaliação da inovação social a nível europeu. (http://www.tepsie.eu/)

• The professional activation of university graduates using the Portuguese Model of Coaching. – The project goal is to promote the employability of graduates from the Lodzkie region, implementing the “PIC” coaching model. The School of Economics and Management role will be to share knowledge and experience with the Foundation for Promotion of Entrepreneurship and adapt this style of coaching to their needs, objectives and specific context. The project also involves the design of a research methodology that will allow the assessment of business expectations needs in relation to relating to jobseekers.

• Programa Intensivo Erasmus - Summer School in European Business Skills in partnership with Business Academy Aarhus (Dinamarca); Hogeschool van Amesterdam (Holanda);Babes Bolyai University (Roménia); European University (Chipre); Université Lumière Lyon 2 (França); University of Zagreb (Croácia).

MERLINO - Towards a juvenile delinquency prevention policy: a multi-state experiment on integration. - Project with the goal of identifying risk factors and protective factors of juvenile delinquency.
